Guide to the Planning Framework
Over 130 people attended our planning seminars held on 5, 12, and 23 September in Normandy Village Hall (our thanks to the Trustees for making it available for this purpose).
The seminars were designed to demystify the local planning framework, in the context of widespread concern among local residents about potential major housing developments on Green Belt land in Normandy.
'Grey Belt' - What Is It?
At the Taylor Wimpey (TW) 'consultation event' on 18 July, many people were either confused or angered by TW’s claim that “The land is grey belt, previously developed or underused and not strongly contributing to the Green Belt’s wider purposes”. In this note we show why that was a disingenuous statement, and clarify what is meant by ‘Grey Belt’.
Understanding Taylor Wimpey's 'Vision'
1. In its leaflet, distributed to households in Normandy Parish to announce its first ‘Public Consultation event’ on Friday, 18 July, and on its website, Taylor Wimpey (TW) states that its ‘Emerging Vision’ for its site at Normandy and Flexford includes:
A New Town in Normandy? Planning and Local Government changes and what they might mean locally.
A welter of Government initiatives covering (a) changes to the national planning system and (b) local government reorganisation could have a major impact on our lives in Normandy.
