NAG has asked GBC whether further guidance will be forthcoming on the design policies to be applied in settlements that are ‘inset’, as we believe it would be helpful for local residents to have clear guidance as to what is and what is not likely to be acceptable.

We have been told that these are likely to feature in the Regulation 18 public consultation on Part 2 of the Local Plan, which is expected shortly, as soon as Councillors have agreed it should proceed. We hope, therefore, that this will provide an opportunity to feed in any views about the principles that should guide development in ‘inset’ villages such as ours.
