If anyone witnesses any importation of waste into any of the fields at Wanborough under threat, please report this to the Environment Agency incident hotline number – 0800 807060 - and quote the reference number 1920237. If you can provide any information such as times & registration plates that would be most helpful.

While we have understandably been focused on the damage being done to Wanborough Fields (see article), the current trend of selling off areas of agricultural land or woodland and parcelling them up into small plots for onward marketing is affecting other areas within our community.

In January the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government launched a consultation on the National Planning Policy Framework and National Model Design Code. This has now closed and Government is analysing the feedback.

Despite the existence of Enforcement and Stop Notices, issued in September 2020 by Guildford Borough Council (GBC) great damage continues to be done to the Area of Great Landscape Value (AGLV) at Wanborough Fields.

Ash Green Residents' Association [AGRA] have been confronting Guildford Borough Council [GBC] and developers on a number of fronts since the approval of the Guildford Local Plan. As the fields around Ash Green are 'land beyond the Green Belt' the area, along with Tongham, has borne the brunt of developer interest and activity, with 6 applications for 988 new dwellings on sites at the edge of Surrey Hills AONB.
