Planning Seminar 12 September
Thanks to all who came along on Friday for our planning seminar. We had a good conversation! There are still spaces available for the session this coming Friday, 12 September, in the Village Hall at 8pm, so do please sign up using the button below if you would like to come.
Please complete survey!
In our last newsletter we launched a short survey aimed at gauging the mood regarding the Taylor Wimpey proposal to build hundreds of houses in Normandy. We have had a good response, but there are many people who have not yet replied. Please consider doing so, as the results will have more credibility the greater the number of people who respond. it will take you just a couple of minutes!
More on Shortlands Farm
Again in our last newsletter we alerted you to the additional threat of 200 houses planned for Shortlands Farm between Normandy and Ash. Local residents have created a website 'Residents Against Shortlands Housing - RASH’ with information and a call to action, which you will find here.
Government response on 'Grey Belt' Petition
Predictably, the Government has rejected the call for a rewriting of the ‘Grey Belt’ criteria in the Petition launched by the charity the CPRE. But the language used in the Government’s response is not entirely discouraging. The description of ‘Grey Belt’ as “other land, which, whilst formally designated as Green Belt land, no longer adequately contributes to the Green Belt purposes” could hardly, it seems to us, be applied to the site TW are proposing to develop. It’s worth reading the full text of the response, here.
