The two most senior officers at Guildford Borough Council are to leave their posts; the Managing Director, Sue Sturgeon is to retire in May 2017 and Deputy Managing Director, Satish Mistry to spend more time with his family at his London home. As yet there is no indication as to their replacements.

On October 6 2016, a report from Director of Corporate Services, Guildford Borough Council, was released concerning the retirement of the council's Managing Director and the recruitment of a successor for consideration by the council's Employment Committee. Managing Director of Guildford Borough Council, Sue Sturgeon, is to retire 31 May 2017 after 9 years. Ms Sturgeon joined from Spelthorne BC and served as Guildford’s Chief Finance Officer before taking the MD's role.

Director of Corporate Services & Deputy Managing Director, Satish Mistry, has left the council. Mr Mistry had previously acted as Interim Head of Legal Services, Compliance Officer and Returning Officer for the borough council.
