At the recent NAG AGM we discussed biodiversity, how to protect it, and whether the Government’s latest proposals will help.

Natural England has launched a public consultation on a review of the boundaries of the existing Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).This has been long in coming and predictably, now that it is upon us, there is a not a great deal of time to respond; the consultation period closes on 31 January 22.

Over the last year the Government has been consulting on potential changes to the national planning system.

The Planning Inspectorate has rejected three Appeals against Enforcement Notices issued by Guildford Borough Council regarding unauthorised development in Wanborough Fields.

At its meeting on 14 July the Planning Committee of Guildford Borough Council (GBC) approved application 20/P/01148 for 16 'affordable' dwellings on the vacant plot of land between on the south side of Beech Lane adjacent to Hawthorn Close, despite the objections of Normandy Parish Council and numerous local residents.
