You can set up an instruction to send details of planning applications received by GBC direct to your inbox.

  1. Visit the GBC website. From the main menu select Residents>Planning & Building Control>Search & comment on a planning application. On the resulting web page, click the 'View and comment on a planning application' box to access the ‘Simple Search’ page.
  2. In order to receive notifications of lists of current planning applications to your personal electronic mail box, it is necessary to Register using the Simple Search page menu bar and create your Profile that requires a first and last name, residence address, and most importantly your email address.

  3. To create a search for planning applications within a range of dates such as a month, click on the ‘Advanced’ tab:

  4. After selecting the 'Advanced tab, click on 'Search' in the menu bar, select 'Planning' and then click 'Advanced' from the pop out menu



  5. Fill out the criteria under which you wish to be notified e.g. applications within a certain ward or parish or road name and specify the date range within which you want to list planning applications. Click 'Search' at the bottom of the page.

  6. When the search results are listed, click ‘Save Search’:

  7. The My Profile page will display a 'Search Title' box (editable) and an option to ‘Notify me by email’. Select the 'Yes' option and click 'Save'. The automated notification system will send you an email containing a summary list of planning applications on your chosen search date.

  8. You can go back into My Profile>Saved Searches on the menu bar and change the name of the search if needed.
