At our Annual General Meeting on 29 October we discussed the potential implications of the huge increase in Guildford Borough's housing target should the proposals featuring in the Government's recent consultation on the National Planning Policy Framework be adopted. You can read the Agenda, Chair's Report, and Draft Minutes of the AGM, in the attachments below.

The meeting also noted that the application 24/P/00441 to build a solar farm on Green Belt/prospective National Landscape to the west of Blackwell Farm would be discussed at the Planning Committee of Guildford Borough Council (GBC) on Wednesday, 6 November, from 7pm. Officers had recommended approval of this application, with a significant number of conditions. The (104 page long) Officer's Report is available here. It would be possible for members of the public to watch the live webcast here: https://guildford.publici.tv/core/portal/home (in the event of failure of this link, the advice is to copy the address and paste it into one's browser at the time of the meeting.)

We have recently uploaded to this website our newsletter 'Planning Matters #4 of 2023', which includes news of the permanent establishment of the Article 4 Direction on the land to the west of Bailes Lane in Normandy, agreed by GBC on 11 September 2024.
