Public consultation on the 'Main Modifications' to the Local Plan, which include a proposed site, A64, for 105 houses on Green Belt in Normandy, closes at noon on Tuesday, 23 October. Here are the details of how to respond; at first sight it looks impenetrable but it is actually not. Visit the consultation homepage and you will see that you can respond in three ways:

  • by opening the Schedule of Proposed Main Modifications (under 'Documents' towards the bottom of the page); you then ‘add a comment’ by using the button at the bottom of the box showing the Main Modification (you don't have to answer all of them, just the ones you are interested in, and you can jump to MM45 using the list on the right hand side of the page);
  • or by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • or by post to Planning Policy Team, Guildford Borough Council offices, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey GU2 4BB

Please note also the following comment: "If you respond by email or letter, please make sure tell us which main modification each of your comments relates to by referencing the relevant number from the Schedule of Main Modifications. Please note that we cannot accept anonymous comments so you must provide your name and email and/or postal address."

In other words, if you are emailing or writing about the Normandy proposal, you must make clear you are responding to Main Modification 45, i.e. MM45 dealing with Policy A64. You also need to write in your own words, as duplicate replies will be counted as one.
